The QuickBooks Business Network is a feature that allows QuickBooks Online subscribers to locate their customers' and suppliers' contact information within a directory populated by other QuickBooks Online subscribers. The network aids contact discovery and enhances workflow of financial transactions by automatically turning received invoices into bills scheduled for payment. These features help in accurate cash flow forecasting and decrease the necessity for manual entry.
Access to the QuickBooks Business Network requires an active QuickBooks Online subscription. The network uses only customer-facing contact details. Users of QuickBooks Online Accountants can benefit from the Network search experience and control Network visibility within their clients' QuickBooks Online accounts. However, QuickBooks Online Accountant Firms will not be available on the Network and won't have access to the Network search or visibility experience.
Ensuring all the contact information you want visible to other QuickBooks Business Network members in current is essential. Here's the process:
First, log in to your QuickBooks Online account as a Primary or Admin (Company admin).
Go to Settings (Gear Icon), then select Account and Settings.
Choose the Company tab.
If required, update customer details: Company name, Customer email, Company Phone, Website, and Customer address (The Network only displays only your city and state)
Select ‘Save,’ then ‘Done.’
Members of the QuickBooks Business Network gain access to a unique search feature when choosing a New customer or New supplier in QuickBooks Online:
In QuickBooks Business Network, when you type the name of a customer or supplier, results should appear in a search dropdown or a designated area for search results. Choosing a listed business will fill in the contact information in the customer or supplier form. Saving the customer or supplier adds them to your Customer or Supplier List and will automatically update to reflect the customer or supplier’s latest details in QuickBooks.
QuickBooks guarantees that your personal information will be secure and provides transparency and control over data sharing. Members share their business contact information solely within the QuickBooks Business Network. The information isn't visible to non-members, ensuring your privacy. You can visit their Privacy and Security Centre.
If you prefer not to have your customer-facing information viewable in the QuickBooks Business Network, you can adjust your visibility:
Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
Head to Settings ⚙, then select Account and Settings.
Choose the Advanced tab.
Opt for QuickBooks Business Network and switch the option OFF.
Select Save, then Done.
After adjusting your visibility, members of the QuickBooks Business Network will no longer be able to search for and locate your business. Network members who have previously connected with you will still have access to the contact details they saved when they added you to their Customer or Supplier list. However, altering your contact information won't automatically update them. The Accounts Payable (AP) Automation feature will also be turned off for your company once you turn off your Network visibility. You can reactivate the QuickBooks Business Network settings to enable this feature again.
Remember that the accounts payable automation feature isn't available for EasyStart customers. Utilizing the QuickBooks Business Network for spam, marketing, or other activities which violate the relevant Intuit terms of service is strictly forbidden. You can only view and connect with other QuickBooks Business Network members in your geographical area. All Business Information provided by QuickBooks Online customers is not independently verified or endorsed by Intuit.
